- Her most memorable moment was playing at UC Riverside her senior year in front of around 50 friends and family members.
- “Looking up into the stands from the dugout, seeing so many people there for me was extremely emotional and humbling.
- Lackey finished that season with a .401 batting average, the first .400 batting average for a Gamecock since 1999.
Current Life
- Married in Nov., the former Lackey is now Lauren Hambright.
- They live in Wildomar, Calif., about 15 minutes from her hometown of Lake Elsinore.
- The Hambrights met in middle school but did not start dating until college, with her at South Carolina and Ryan a baseball player at Oregon.
- She earned her masters on Dec. 12, 2014 in exercise science and health from California University of Pennsylvania.
- Currently she serves as a substitute teacher, the assistant varsity softball coach at her high school, a private softball tutor while also leading some personal training sessions.
- Hambright is grateful that she works inside of her passions: helping kids, softball and fitness.
- She now will try to get her teaching credentials to become a full-time teacher, hoping to teach high school exercise science or nutrition.
