Opening Statement
Congratulations to LSU. Phenomenal team, great regular season, and they are as advertised. I was extremely impressed with their pitching staff today. (Alex) Lange was as dominant as a young freshman pitcher as I’ve seen in this league in a long time. Our team was ready to play. We had some juice and energy, we were bouncing off the walls and he just stuffed us. Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposing team and that was one hell of a team over there. Not much weakness there, they can run, they are physical, they are strong, they got a great player at shortstop, they have power, power arms. They are the complete package. In our state that we are from a health standpoint, it’s tough to compete against them. We’ll move on to Tuesday, go down to Hoover and see if we can play well. We have an opportunity to play in post season as far as the SEC Tournament is concerned. If we can play our best baseball down there, who knows. Let’s go down there and play one game at a time. Obviously the season is probably on the line Tuesday, let’s go down there and see if we can keep playing.
On the SEC Tournament
I know that there are a lot of teams probably out there in the same boat that we are in. Some teams are going south and we’re going to try to make sure we go north. There are a lot of teams out there that are on the bubble. There are some that have an RPI higher than ours but I think our resume may be just as good if not better than some of those teams. I just want to go down there and play our butts off on Tuesday and see if we can win and compete in the double elimination part of the tournament and see what happens. I know we have to go down there and win to have a chance. But, there are a lot of teams in the same boat that we are in, in our league and in other leagues. We put ourselves in this position and some games got away from us early in the season that we would like to have right now. We wouldn’t be in this spot but this is where we are. We’ve got to go fight for our life on Tuesday and see if we can play some inspired baseball. That’s what the focus is going to be starting tomorrow.

On the SEC tournament
We’re going to come out, we’re going to have a good practice tomorrow, and same thing on Monday. We’re going to come out as aggressive as possible. We know what’s at stake, but it is what it is. It’s just another game so we’re going to come out strong.
On his last hit in Carolina Stadium
It was great; I kind of figured it was my last day of the year being here. I mean it was really tough, but I’m glad I at least got out with a hit. Coming off with a standing [ovation] was great. I’m going to miss the fans; I’m going to miss the atmosphere here. It’s going to be tough.
Junior Infielder Marcus Mooney
On the loss tonight
As a team, when you think when you get the first [win of the series] there’s a little pressure off your back. You come out and want to get at least one of the next two [games]. They’re (LSU) a great team all around; they certainly proved why they’re the number one. They’re just a tough team.
