COLUMBIA, S.C. – Several Gamecocks are participating in summer baseball leagues throughout the United States. Here are some highlights from some of the players that are playing through June 7, 2015.

Alex Calvert, RHP (Bethesda Big Train – Ripken League)
Calvert is 1-0 after winning his first start of the summer. Calvert allowed three runs on three hits in five innings with three walks and five strikeouts in a 6-3 victory over the Baltimore Dodgers.

Gene Cone, OF (Cotuit Kettleers – Cape Cod League)
Cone and the Cotuit Kettleers begin play on the Cape on Tuesday, June 9 at Harwich.

Canaan Cropper, RHP (Lexington County Blowfish – Coastal Plain League)
Cropper is 1-1 with a 8.10 ERA after two starts with the Blowfish. He has six strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.

Alex Destino (Wilmington Sharks – Coastal Plain League)
Destino is batting .206 (7-for-34) with three runs scored, a double, a homer and seven RBI in eight games played.

Everett Eynon (Wilson Tobs – Coastal Plain League)
Eynon is batting .184 (7-for-38) with two runs scored and a double.

Tyler Haswell (Florence Redwolves – Coastal Plain League)
Haswell is 1-0 with a 1.20 ERA in three games with two starts. He has allowed three runs, two earned, on 12 hits with four walks and 12 strikeouts in 15.0 innings pitched. Opponents are batting .222 against him.

Tyler Johnson (Plymouth Pilgrims – The New England League)
Johnson has not pitched in the first three games last week for the Pilgrims.

John Parke (Wilmington Sharks – Coastal Plain League)
Parke is 1-1 with a 4.35 ERA in two starts with the Sharks. Parke has allowed six runs, five earned, on 13 hits in 10.1 innings with seven walks and nine strikeouts.

Weber Pike (Aldie Senators – Velley League)
Pike has not played in three games for the Senators.

Clark Scolamiero (Wilson Tobs – Coastal Plain League)
Scolamiero is hitting .244 (11-for-45) with five runs scored and four RBI. He has also tallied a pair of stolen bases.

Reed Scott (Wilmington Sharks – Coastal Plain League)
Scott has not pitched yet for the Sharks.

Madison Stokes (Lexington County Blowfish – Coastal Plain League)
Stokes is second on the Blowfish in hitting thru 11 games batting .333 (13-for-39) with five runs scored and five RBI. He is tied with Gamecock teammate Jared Williams with seven stolen bases.

Hunter Taylor (Peninsula Pilots – Coastal Plain League)
Taylor is batting .200 (2-for-10) with a pair of runs, a double and a solo homer in three starts.

Matthew Vogel (Wilmington Sharks – Coastal Plain League)
Vogel has struck out the side twice in two relief appearances and has a save in two innings of work. He has struck out all six batters he has faced this summer.

Taylor Widener (Lexington County Blowfish – Coastal Plain League)
Widener is 1-0 with a 0.90 ERA after two starts with the Blowfish. Widener has allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits with two walks and 14 strikeouts in 10.0 innings of work. Opponents are batting .118 against him.

Jared Williams (Lexington County Blowfish – Coastal Plain League)
Williams is hitting .297 (11-for-37) with nine runs scored and six RBI. He is tied with Gamecock teammate Madison Stokes with seven stolen bases.

Matt Williams (Florence Redwolves – Coastal Plain League)
Williams is batting .276 (8-for-29) in eight starts with four runs scored, one double, one triple and six RBI.
