COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina volleyball coach Scott Swanson took some time away from preseason practice on Wednesday to give an update on his squad’s progress through the first part of camp.

Swanson, who is in his fifth season at Carolina, talks about his team’s performance in practice, players who have stepped up, the Garnet and Black match and more.

The Gamecocks will hold the Garnet and Black match on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Carolina Volleyball Center. Admission to the match is free, as fans will get their first look at the 2015 squad. A meet and greet with the team will begin after the match, allowing fans to get autographs and pictures.

Season tickets will be available for purchase at the match, and anyone who purchases a season ticket during the match will receive an Under Armour mini-volleyball while supplies last. Season tickets for the Gamecocks’ 16 home dates are $25 for adults and $10 for youth (17 and under). The Gamecocks open their 2015 season at home as they are slated to host the Gamecock Invitational on Aug. 28-29. Carolina will kick off the weekend against Southeastern Louisiana on Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. and will face North Carolina Central (1 p.m.) and North Carolina State (7 p.m.) on Aug. 29.
