Greg Ward is a legend in South Carolina baseball.
40 years ago, he was one of the star pitchers on a South Carolina team that was the first to punch a ticket to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
During a baseball game this past spring that honored that 1975 College World Series team, Ward was approached by Tommy Moody, analyst for Gamecock Radio baseball broadcasts, who told Ward that he was going to be nominated for the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame.
