ATLANTA, Ga. – South Carolina men’s tennis completed day two at the Georgia Tech Fall Classic in Atlanta with a pair of Gamecocks in medal contention. Sophomore Harrison O’Keefe advanced to the finals of flight B while junior Sam Swank plays for third on Sunday in flight C.

O’Keefe moved on to the finals of his draw with a 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4 win Saturday over David Herrerias of Arkansas. He is set to match up with Tennessee’s Igor Smelyanski Sunday at 10 a.m. Junior Sam Swank will play for third in his draw against Fabian Fallert of Ole Miss. He fell in a heartbreaker, 4-6, 7-6(7-4), 7-6(7-4), to Georgia State’s Andrei Andrukhou on Saturday.

Redshirt freshman Wood Benton picked up a win Saturday, besting Corey Smith of Kennesaw State, 6-1, 6-4. He advances to the semifinals of the consolation bracket in flight C where he will face Giles Hussey of Georgia State.

After wins yesterday, junior Alex Fennell and sophomore Gabriel Friedrich were taken down in flight A. They move to the flight A north draw with a chance to bounce back. Freshman Yancy Dennis and sophomore Thomas Mayronne also fell on Saturday after opening-round wins in flight B. They also move to the north draw of their flight looking to rebound.
