COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” Twenty-two former South Carolina players are on Major League or Minor League rosters as the 2016 professional baseball season started this week. Included among the list is current big leaguers: outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. with the Boston Red Sox, right-handed pitcher Sam Dyson with the Texas Rangers, first baseman Steve Pearce with the Tampa Bay Rays and first baseman Justin Smoak with the Toronto Blue Jays. In addition, first baseman Christian Walker is currently on the 40-man roster with the Baltimore Orioles.
