Start Your Summer Early with Gamecock Baseball Wednesday Night
May 3, 2016
With the spring semester coming to an end, South Carolina baseball fans can dig into the summer wardrobe a little bit early. Fans attending Wednesday night’s game between the Gamecocks and visiting USC Upstate are encouraged to break out the board shorts, Hawaiian shirt, sandals, and maybe even sunscreen for South Carolina’s Kickoff to Summer `16 at Founders Park.
“School is out and finals are winding down, so we want fans to relax and come out to enjoy some baseball,” said Amber Wise, South Carolina Assistant Director of Marketing. “We’ll also have free food for the first 250 South Carolina students who come into the game.”
Wednesday’s game will also be Active Gamecocks Day. Anyone who participated in that program will gain free admission to the game as long as they bring their voucher.
Bring your beach towel and sunglasses to lay out on the BI-LO Berm. Just don’t bring your beach umbrella or any other large items that will block the view for other fans.
“We’ll play some of your favorite summertime music during pregame and in between innings,” Wise said. “Hopefully it will put fans in the mood to go to the beach and get ready for summer. Of course we’re not messing with anyone’s walk-up songs.”
