Alaynie Page Signed by NPF's Chicago Bandits

May 31, 2016

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Former South Carolina outfielder Alaynie Page signed a free-agent contract with the defending National Pro Fastpitch champion Chicago Bandits, general manager Aaron Moore announced today.

Page started every game in three of her four years with the Gamecocks, including all 61 this season, and led the 2016 team with nine home runs, 41 RBI, 28 walks and 17 stolen bases. The only Gamecock in history to hit more than 20 home runs and steal more than 25 bases, she tied the program’s home run record with 33 in her career while standing fifth with 52 stolen bases. In total, the Boiling Springs, S.C., native has her name 22 times in the Gamecocks’ career offensive record books while leading all South Carolina outfielders in the SEC era with 349 putouts.

During her NFCA All-America junior campaign, Page set four new single-season records at South Carolina, including her 15 home runs, .538 on-base percentage and .805 slugging percentage. Page also earned first-team All-SEC honors during 2015.

Page follows former teammate Samie Garcia into the pro ranks. Garcia spent a year with the NY/NJ Comets before joining the Pennsylvania Rebellion for the past two seasons.

Page’s first game comes on Thursday against the newest addition to the NPF, the Scrap Yard Dawgs, based in the greater Houston area. The next week sees the Bandits face the Dallas Charge, where Page will square off against Gamecock graduate assistant manager Renada Davis in the three-game series.

South Carolina finished 2016 with a 38-23 record, topping the 35-win mark for the third-consecutive season. Head coach Beverly Smith’s team has played in the last four NCAA Tournaments, twice making Championship Sunday in regional action.
