Spurs And Feathers: Gamecock Cross Country Season Preview

Fresh off a year where a young team made some strides throughout the season, the South Carolina cross country team officially kicked off another year with the start of practice on Monday, Aug. 15. That young talent from last year returns with one more year of experience, along with a large and talented freshmen class that will be looking for early exposure.
“It’ll definitely be rocking and rolling once it gets started,” head coach Andrew Allden said. “As always, we have a lot of new kids. We’ll have 13 new kids on the roster. It was an excellent class, and I’m very excited to kind of get them rolling and get them integrated with practice and everything else.”
Over the last couple of years, Allden has had to deal with the youth and inevitable growing pains, but now the head coach has a core that he can rely on.
