COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team moved up two spots to No. 6 in the latest NCEA national rankings, which were released on Wednesday. The Gamecocks had been ranked eighth in each previous edition of the top-10 poll.

South Carolina (3-1, 1-1 SEC) owns three victories over NCEA top-10 competition, including last week’s win over No. 10 New Mexico State. The Gamecocks defeated the Aggies, 11-8, behind M.O.P. performances from Lizzie van der Walde (equitation over fences) and Raegan Renfroe (reining).

The Gamecocks remain one of four SEC teams ranked in the poll. Texas A&M continues to hold the top spot for the third consecutive week, followed by No. 2 Auburn and No. 3 Georgia. SMU and Baylor round out the top-five.

Head Coach Boo Major and the Gamecocks lead the bottom half of the top-10, followed by TCU, Oklahoma State, Fresno State and New Mexico State.

South Carolina is back in action on Friday, Nov. 4, when they head west for a road meet at No. 9 Fresno State. Competition in Fresno, Calif., is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
