
South Carolina Concludes Year at NCAA Southeast Regionals

EARLYSVILLE, Va. – South Carolina’s cross country team wrapped up its 2016 season in the NCAA Southeast Regional on Friday morning, finishing 24th in the event.
Senior Mary Reiser led the team as she did all season, finishing 74th with a time of 22:06.4. Freshman Anna Kathryn Stoddard posted her best career 6K time (22:27.1) while ranking 103rd. Sophomore Allison Mueller ranked third on the team (22:42.8, 123rd), while junior Kaylee Wessel (23:24.8, 160th) and freshman Emily Crounse (23:35.4, 172nd) rounded out the scoring.
NC State claimed the regional title over 31 other teams, while Louisville eked out second and the automatic NCAA Championships bid by a point over Kentucky. Coastal Carolina’s Annie Bothma claimed the individual title, finishing the 6K course in 20:15.4.
This caps a season where South Carolina won three of its outings, including both home races.
