COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head coach Moritz Moritz and the South Carolina beach volleyball program announced two new additions for 2017-18 on Wednesday. Kennedy Copeland and Quinn Fulton will join the team next season and will have four years of eligibility.
“For us, the main message for what we’re trying to develop here at South Carolina is just consistency and bringing in kids that are going to be passionate about volleyball. We’re continuing to build what we already have and building a legacy that will stand the test of time. That’s the neat thing with this class, they’re going to fit in well and help advance the culture we have here.”
Kennedy Copeland (Newbury Park, California / Westlake High School)

Coach Moritz on Copeland
“Kennedy is athletic, and got great training from her coaches out in California. She brings a passion for something different, not just staying out on the west coast but looking for a new journey here at South Carolina, and she has a fun drive to her. She’ll be an impact player for us somewhere in the rotation, so that’s exciting to think about.”
Quinn Fulton (Calabasas, California / Agoura High School)
- Daughter of Christopher and Nicole, and has one brother – Matthew. Her mother played volleyball at Cal State Fullerton.
- Plans to major in international studies, with a goal of directing a non-profit organization.
- Played club beach volleyball for Valley Girls.
- Captained her high school team and was an All-League honoree.
Coach Moritz on Fulton
“Quinn came to our camp a couple of summers ago and was just one of those kids that you could see it in her eyes, she just fell in love with the place. That’s always part of our process, looking for kids who are passionate and are excited to be a part of our program. She has the demeanor and work ethic that will really help in the development of this team.”
