Baseball Participating In 2nd Annual MLK Week Of Service

Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina baseball program will participate in several community events during its second annual “MLK Week of Service,” January 16-20 with the Gamecocks looking to reach fans in Columbia and the entire Midlands community.

MLK Week of Service begins on Monday, Jan. 16 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as Epworth Children’s Home will visit Founders Park for an event with the entire team. The week continues on Wednesday, Jan. 18, as student-athletes visit with veterans at Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center. The student-athletes will also spend time with the City of Columbia youth attending the South Carolina men’s basketball game vs. Florida that evening. Thursday, Jan. 19, student-athletes will head to Arden Elementary School to assist with book distribution, reading to the children and talking about why reading is important. The week concludes on Friday with players making a visit to Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.
