No. 24 South Carolina Faces No. 1 Florida

COLUMBIA, S.C. — No. 24 South Carolina women’s tennis travels to Gainesville, Fla. to face No. 1 Florida Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex. The Gamecocks are 9-3 overall and 1-1 in SEC play this season, coming off split results on the weekend with a 4-2 win over No. 20 Texas A&M and a 4-2 loss to No. 37 LSU.

GAMECOCK NOTABLES

  • The Gamecocks boast two ranked in singles play; Ingrid Gamarra Martins (35) and Mia Horvit (58), up 42 spots from her previous ranking of 100.
  • The doubles pairing of Paige Cline and Hadley Berg is ranked No. 27 nationally.
  • Berg is undefeated in singles play this season, adding a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Texas A&M’s Tina Bokhua to increase her win-streak to 10-0.
  • Freshman Silvia Chinellato went undefeated on the first weekend of SEC play, adding two wins in the No. 4 spot.
  • Kevin Epley is in his fifth season with the Gamecocks.

Scouting No. 1 FLORIDA

  • The Gators are undefeated this season, improving to 11-0 overall and 2-0 in league play after defeating No. 37 LSU, 7-0, and No. 20 Texas A&M, 4-0, last weekend.
  • Florida defeated then No. 2 North Carolina, 4-2, to win the National Team Indoor Championships this season.
  • Ranked singles: Josie Kuhlman (12), Ingrid Neel (14), Belinda Woolcock (19), Anna Danilina (22), Kourtney Keegan (32), Spencer Liang (56) and Brooke Austin (125).
