Five Gamecocks Ranked In Preseason Rankings

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Five Gamecocks were recognized in the 2017-18 Oracle/ITA Preseason Rankings, it was announced Tuesday. The doubles tandem of Hadley Berg and Paige Cline checked in at No. 7 in the country for the second-consecutive year to highlight the Carolina preseason rankings.

On the single’s side, Mia Horvit checked in at No. 26 for the highest individual ranking for Carolina. Ingrid Gamarra Martins wasn’t far off, as she came in at No. 28. Next up was Berg at No. 107 while Silvia Chinellato is set to start the year at No. 116. This is the first time since the tenth week of the 2011-12 season that South Carolina has had two single’s players ranked in the top 30.

This marks the second-consecutive year four or more Gamecocks have been included in the Oracle/ITA Preseason Rankings.
