A fourth quarter drive at Williams-Brice Stadium is where legends are created on the gridiron. The Gamecocks are counting on fans to leave a permanent legacy of their own in the “4th Quarter Drive” of the Expanding Our Vision capital initiative to complete the fundraising for the Football Operations Center. With the facility scheduled to be completed next December, it’s the generosity of donors that will carry the project across the goal line.

“Anybody can be a part of this giving opportunity,” said Steve Eigenbrot, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Gamecock Club. “We need people from all giving abilities to help get us there. We’re in the fourth quarter in terms of construction, and we need donors who can help to do so and make this facility the best in the country.”

“The Football Operations Center puts us at the forefront of facilities in college football,” said South Carolina Head Football Coach Will Muschamp. “The Football Operations Center shows a commitment from the University to future student-athletes, as well as the student-athletes we currently have on campus.

“I think it’s going to be a game-changer for us as far as the student-athletes on our campus presently, but also in the recruiting process.”

The Football Operations Center will be one of the finest in the nation and will enhance the overall student-athlete experience with a sports medicine suite, state-of-the art weight room, team and coaches’ locker rooms, team film and meeting rooms, team dining facility, coaches and staff offices, and dedicated recruiting spaces.

“For our players, it’s a one-stop shop,” Muschamp said. “It’s going to be just fabulous for us as a staff. Right now, our practice situation is phenomenal. We’ve got the nicest (indoor facility) I’ve ever been around and two grass practice fields with plenty of work space outside of that. To get this facility done, I’m really excited.”

The push for the last $12 million of the $50 million dollar project was recently boosted by several significant gifts, including a $1 million gift in December from former track and field All-American student-athlete Jim Schaper (1971-1974) and his wife, Rebecca.

“I am excited to see the progress of our football program under Coach Will Muschamp’s leadership,” Schaper said. “The new Football Operations Center makes a statement to our current and prospective football student-athletes that we are committed to excellence at the University of South Carolina. I hope other Gamecocks will join us in supporting this important project.”

There are still plenty of naming opportunities within the facility including the weight room, coaches’ offices, and meeting and conference rooms. Some naming opportunities begin at $25,000. Donations for the facility are tax deductible and can be paid off incrementally.
