Jan. 23, 2018

SEC TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK — JAN. 23, 2018

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of South Carolina senior Ncincilili Titi has been named SEC Co-Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. The weekly honor is the second of Titi’s collegiate career, and he shares the award with Florida’s Grant Holloway.

Titi made international headlines Saturday when he clocked a time of 20.45 in the 200m at the Clemson Invitational. The time stands as the fastest indoor 200m time in the world this season, the second-fastest time in African history and the second-fastest time in Gamecock history.

In addition to setting his indoor 200m PR last weekend, Titi also ran his fastest-ever 60m time. His 6.69 stands 19th in the NCAA this season.

Prior to the season, Titi was named the top 200m sprinter in all of collegiate track & field by FloTrack. The six-time All-American holds an outdoor 200m PR of 20.14, the fastest time in Carolina history.

UP NEXT FOR THE GAMECOCKS

Titi and the Gamecocks compete at the Columbia Challenge this weekend in New York City. The Gamecocks run Jan. 26-27 at the historic Armory in Manhattan.
