No. 25 South Carolina men’s tennis earned its second win of the weekend, topping Old Dominion 6-1 on Sunday to improve to 9-2 on the season.

The Gamecocks started out the match by winning the doubles point. Gabriel Friedrich and Yancy Dennis continued their success in the #1 spot, taking the win over No. 22 Aziz Kijametovic and Francois Musitelli, 6-3.

At #3 doubles, Harrison O’Keefe and Wood Benton came through to secure the doubles point with a 7-5 win over Vincent Schneider and Jannik Giesse.

South Carolina clinched the match with five singles wins for a final score of 6-1. Friedrich was the first to finish in singles, taking a 6-4, 6-1 win over Adam Moundir at the top of the lineup. Dennis followed with a win at #3 against Michael Weindl, finishing with a score of 7-6. 6-3.

Old Dominion earned its point at #2 singles, with Kijametovic topping Paul Jubb 6-4, 6-4. Senior Thomas Mayronne came back to clinch the match for the Gamecocks at the #4 spot, outplaying Vincent Schneider 7-6, 7-5.

The #5 and #6 singles matches both went to three sets, with Benton finishing fifth with a win over Giesse at #6. The Gamecock came back after dropping the first set to finish 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. O’Keefe secured the last point of the day with a 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 win over Musitelli.

South Carolina men’s tennis will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to take on Georgia Tech next weekend. The Gamecocks face off against the Yellow Jackets at noon on Sunday.
