COLUMBIA — The University of South Carolina baseball team won all four games this past weekend at Founders Park, defeating Davidson, 5-4, and earning a three-game sweep over Tennessee.

NOTES:
South Carolina earned its second sweep of the season and first in SEC play since March of 2017 in a three-game sweep of Tennessee. Carolina also swept Princeton on March 9-10 in a three-game series. The last three-game sweep in conference play was at Tennessee on March 17-19, 2017.
South Carolina has now won 26 of the last 29 games against Tennessee and made it nine straight wins this past weekend. The Gamecocks hit .313 on the weekend and allowed just five earned runs in the three games.
Jonah Bride extended his hitting streak to seven games as the senior went 7-for-10 with five runs scored in the series. Bride was 3-for-3 with three runs scored in Thursday’s win. He also had to play second base for the first time in his career on Saturday after an injury to Justin Row. On the year, Bride is hitting .333 with six doubles and 13 RBI.
Adam Hill came back after missing the Georgia series and threw five no-hit innings on Thursday night, striking out four in the process, to earn his third win of the year. Hill now has a miniscule .110 opponent’s batting average, which leads the SEC.
Eddy Demurias had a hand in three of the four wins this week. He earned the save against Davidson on Tuesday, pitching two innings of relief and striking out batter. Demurias pitched two more innings on Friday and earned the win on Saturday, going 1.1 innings with a strikeout. This year, Demurias is a perfect 3-0 with a 2.73 ERA.
Saturday’s win was the second for the Gamecocks when trailing going into the seventh inning. Carolina tied the game at three in the seventh on Riley Hogan‘s bases-loaded walk and scored three runs in the eighth on an RBI double from Jacob Olson and a two-run double off the bat of Matt Williams.
Danny Blair hit his first home run of the season on Friday, part of a three home-run night for the Gamecocks. Blair is the 12th different Carolina hitter with at least one home run this season. Blair joined Jacob Olson and Carlos Cortes in hitting a home run on Friday night.
Cody Morris had a nice bounce-back start for the Garnet and Black on Friday night, going six innings and allowing four hits and a run with five strikeouts. Morris is now a perfect 5-0 with a 2.89 ERA at Founders Park this season.
South Carolina will now play its next eight game away from Founders Park, starting with a Tuesday night game against North Carolina at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C. Carolina then travels to Lexington, Ky., for a three-game series at Kentucky starting Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
