J.T. Reinert is an assistant director for compliance services at the University of South Carolina. His primary responsibilities include overseeing financial aid and the NLI process, international student-athlete issues, and serves as the compliance liaison for beach volleyball, women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s track & field.
Prior to joining the Gamecocks in June 2016, Reinert spent a year as a postgraduate intern at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis with enforcement. During that time, Reinert supported and assisted the enforcement staff in monitoring, investigating and processing violations of NCAA legislation. This included reviewing and processing self-reported secondary and level III violations across all three divisions and providing case support to investigators on major cases.
Reinert served one year as a compliance intern in the athletics compliance office at Rice University in Houston, Texas, while earning his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2016.
Up until 2013, Reinert spent six years outside of college athletics as a financial analyst in the mortgage industry where his responsibilities included managing various elements of financial-related risk.
A native of Texas, Reinert earned his bachelor’s at Texas Christian University in 2007, where he was a student-athlete with the cross country and track & field teams.
