Gamecocks Set For Princeton Classic

COLUMBIA, S.C. —-South Carolina cross country returns to action again this week when it competes Friday at the 2018 Princeton Classic. Race action begins for the Gamecocks at 5:00 PM ET in Princeton, N.J., at the West Windsor Fields. 
 
Carolina is set to run alongside American, Binghamton, Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell, George Mason, George Washington, Hofstra, LaSalle, Lehigh, Maryland, Monmouth, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Ride, St. Joseph’s, Stony Brook, Temple, Towson, UConn, UMass Lowell, UMBC and Villanova.

This will be the Gamecocks’ last tune-up before the SEC Championship on Oct. 26 in Auburn, AL. It will also serve as Carolina’s first 6K of the 2018 season. 
 
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION 
West Windsor Fields’ address can be found by searching West Windsor Fields, Princeton, N.J., 08540. Parking is available on site. Results from the meet will be posted on the live stats link as well as gamecocksonline.com. 
 
LAST TIME OUT 
South Carolina cross country was victorious last Saturday at the Charleston Classic as all 12 Carolina runners finished in the top-40 to give the Gamecocks their first team victory of the 2018 season. Heather Stone was the top finisher, as her time of 18:23.5 was good enough for a second-place finish.  
 
Including Stone, the Gamecocks had seven runners post times in the top-12. Brooke Wilson was shortly behind Stone as she finished fourth with a time of 18:54.7. Maryah Nasir finished next with a seventh-place finish thanks to her time of 19:08.0 while Kelsey Larkin finished eighth with a time of 19:09.3.
 
The win was Carolina’s first team victory since winning the Koala Classic last season.
