Carolina Sweeps Singles on Day 2 of Kitty Harrison

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The South Carolina women’s tennis team swept its singles matches on the second day of competition at the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
 
The Gamecocks competed against Virginia in four of their six singles matches, coming out on top in all of them. No. 45-ranked Ingrid Gamarra Martins defeated No. 90 Megan Kelly, 6-1, 6-4. Paige Cline also earned a, 6-1, 6-4, win opposite of Amber O’Dell. Carolina’s No. 96 Mia Horvit outlasted Chloe Gullickson for a, 6-4, 4-6, 10-6, victory. No. 81 Megan Davies did not allow Elizabeth Baker a single game in either set, blanking the Cavalier, 6-0, 6-0.
 
Playing opposite of Oklahoma, Silvia Chinellato came back to win her match against Laura Rico-Garcia, 3-6, 6-0, 10-5, after dropping her first set. Kennedy Wicker claimed her match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, over Skyler Mille.
