Pair of Gamecocks Ranked in Latest Oracle/ITA Release

Paul Jubb came in at No. 7 while true freshman Joseph Brailovsky appeared at No. 72 in the latest Oracle/ITA rankings.

COLUMBIA, S.C.- South Carolina men’s tennis had two student-athletes, No. 7 Paul Jubb and No. 72 Joseph Brailovsky, appear in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) end-of-fall rankings which was announced by this week.

Jubb’s No. 7 ranking is the highest singles ranking for a South Carolina men’s tennis player since 2001 when Guillaume Legat reached No. 4 in the final rankings of the season.  Jubb cracked the ITA top-125 for the first time this past April, climbing to No. 56 in the final rankings of the 2017-18 season.

Named the 2018 Carolina Region Player to Watch, the 27th-ranked Jubb won the ITA Carolina Region singles championship and finished 12-2 overall during the fall tournament season. He also collected four ranked wins during the fall, advancing to the round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships and the quarterfinal of the ITA Fall National Championships.

Brailovsky, a true freshman from North Potomac, Md., reached his No. 72 ranking after finishing the fall on a three-match win streak in singles while also going 7-4 overall during the fall in doubles. Brailovsky battled his way to a 13-4 singles record, advancing to the round of 16 at the ITA Carolina Region Championships.

The Gamecocks will now prepare for their dual season, which is set to begin in early January.
