SIGNEE SPOTLIGHT: Nina Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina equestrian head coach Boo Major has announced the addition of Nina Columbia to the Gamecocks’ Hunter Seat team as a part of the 2019 signing class.
 
Background
Columbia joins Carolina from Kinnelon, N.J., where she is currently a senior at Kinnelon High School. Columbia’s family has athletic genes with her father, John, playing at linebacker for East Carolina University. Her Uncle Pete was also an athlete, running track at Rutgers.
 
Equestrian Accomplishments
Columbia trains at Beacon Hill with Stacia Madden. She was Reserve Champion in the 16-year-old Equitation Capital Challenge. Columbia has been champion at multiple events, including WEF, Lake Placid, the Hampton Classic and Old Salem. She also placed 11th at Medal Finals this year. Columbia also finished 8th at the USET Finals on the East Coast.
 
At Carolina
Once at South Carolina, Columbia will compete on the Hunter Seat team with assistant coach Kristen Terebesi. Columbia intends to major in International Sales.
