No. 7 Carolina Hosts No. 16 Tennessee and No. 2 Georgia
 
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s tennis team hosts a pair of ranked Southeastern Conference opponents in Tennessee and Georgia on Friday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., respectively, at the Carolina Tennis Center.
 
The No. 7-ranked Gamecocks (9-2, 4-0 SEC) head into the weekend on a five-match win streak, including four-straight over SEC foes. No. 16 Tennessee (12-3, 2-1 SEC) has been victorious in three-consecutive matches with two being ranked SEC opponents. The No. 2-ranked Bulldogs (11-0, 3-0 SEC) stand undefeated on the season and are the reigning ITA National Team Indoor Champions.
 
South Carolina
 
In their last five matches, the Gamecocks have not allowed their opponents more than two total points, topping No. 9 Oklahoma State, 4-1, Mississippi State, 4-1, Ole Miss, 4-0, No. 41 Missouri, 4-0, and No. 44 Arkansas, 4-0.
 
Junior Silvia Chinellato brings an eight-match win streak to the weekend, including an undefeated record at the No. 5 position, 5-0. Senior and No. 9-ranked Ingrid Gamarra Martins has won six-straight at the No. 1 spot for Carolina and owns a 6-1 mark in duals.
 
Also on win streaks, junior Mia Horvit and sophomore Megan Davies have each claimed three-consecutive victories on courts three and four, respectively.
 
In doubles, No. 7 Gamarra Martins and Horvit are 6-1 at the top spot for Carolina with a 6-1 record in dual matches.
 
Tennessee
 
The Volunteers have recently garnered wins over Chattanooga, 7-0, No. 21 Texas A&M, 4-2, and No. 15 LSU, 4-0.
 
No. 65 Sadie Hammond holds a 6-3 record for Tennessee at the No. 1 position. She is also ranked in doubles with Kaitlin Staines at No. 8. The tandem is undefeated on court one, 11-0, with two wins coming in SEC matches.
 
Staines mainly competes at the No. 2 spot for the Vols and has tallied a 6-3 mark. She has played two matches on court one, winning both.
 
Georgia
 
The Bulldogs started off the spring season by winning three matches before heading to ITA National Team Indoors. There, Georgia swept its opponents, winning four matches and claiming the title. In SEC play, the Bulldogs have topped No. 30 Tennessee, 4-0, No. 15 LSU, 4-2 and No. 21 Texas A&M, 4-0.
 
UGA has six singles players ranked, including the No. 1 player in the nation, Katarina Jokic. At the No. 1 position, Jokic has tallied a 7-2 record. The Bulldogs’ Meg Kowalski is undefeated at the No. 6 spot and has won 13-straight matches.
