South Carolina Nabs No. 2 Seed for SEC Tournament
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The South Carolina women’s tennis team has been named the No. 2 seed for the SEC Tournament as announced by the league office Sunday evening.
Carolina’s seed comes after the Gamecocks went 12-1 in the SEC and 17-3 overall. In the conference, South Carolina finished second only behind No. 1-seeded, and undefeated, Georgia.
For the second-consecutive season, Carolina went undefeated on the road, going a perfect 8-0. Of their 12 conference victories, the Gamecocks blanked seven of their opponents, 4-0.
With its No. 2 seed, South Carolina’s first match of the tournament is at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, April 19, against the winner of No. 7-seeded Florida versus No. 10 Ole Miss.
The tournament, hosted by Texas A&M, begins Wednesday, April 17 and runs through Sunday, April 21 at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.
