Current and Former Gamecocks Ready to Represent Home Countries

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Six current University of South Carolina track and field student-athletes and four Gamecock legends will compete in their countries’ national championships this week, starting on July 25 with the USATF Outdoor Championships.

2019 USATF OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Seven total Gamecocks will be represented at the USATF Outdoor Championships taking place at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Hall, a 2019 NCAA Champion, enters as the highest ranked Gamecock in an event at the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championships. Hall’s 48.48 time in the 400mH seeds him as the second fastest individual. The top three finishers in each event will earn a spot on the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championship team that will travel to Doha, Qatar, in September.

Fellow NCAA Champion Wadeline Jonathas enters the 400m as the fifth-highest ranked individual with a time of 50.60. Isaiah Moore’s 13.37 mark in the 110mH puts him as the seventh-fastest individual entering the USATF Outdoor Championships, and Josh Awotunde’s 21.13m toss puts him at No. 9 to round out the Gamecocks in the top 10 entering this weekend’s meet.
