Three Gamecocks Slated for ITA All-American
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis seniors Mia Horvit and Silvia Chinellato and junior Megan Davies have been selected to compete at the 2019 ITA Women’s All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa at the LaFortune Tennis Center & Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Hitting the courts first, No. 125 Davies and Chinellto will start with the Pre-Qualifying singles round on Saturday. Horvit, who is ranked No. 49, is slated in the Main Draw, which begins on Wednesday.
Davies, playing as the No. 13 seed in the Pre-Qualifying draw, takes on Lauren Lemonds of Michigan State at 10 a.m. ET. Chinellato faces Missouri’s Risa Fukutoku at 9 a.m. ET.
In order to advance through Pre-Qualifying, each participant must make it through all of the singles matches in their draw; the same goes for the Qualifying draw. If a student-athlete wins all matches through the first two qualifying rounds, they will earn a spot in the Main Draw competition.
