Gamecocks Ready for Another 6K

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s cross country team is set to compete at the Royals XC Challenge hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at the McAlpine Creek Park.
 
The race will be the Gamecocks’ second of the season after the Paul Short Run last weekend. Those making the trip with Carolina are: Morgan Adams, Sierra Biber, Savannah Bowers, Elizabeth Davidson, Kelsey Larkin, Morgan Lee, Sarah-Sims McGrath, Maryah Nasir, Sarah Riser and Cheyenne Young.
 
Nasir looks to lead the Gamecocks on Friday as she’s coming off of a 22:23.1 PR last weekend at the Paul Short Run. At the same meet, Young finished sixth for South Carolina, posting a time of 23:04.0 in her first collegiate 6K. Also competing in her first collegiate 6K, Bowers followed behind in seventh for the Gamecocks with a time of 23:14.1.
