Doctors Rule Alexis Lindsey Unable to Participate at South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball head coach Beverly Smith announced today that team physicians have determined redshirt junior outfielder Alexis Lindsey has been medically disqualified from participating at the University of South Carolina. As part of the Gamecock Promise, the athletics department will honor Lindsey’s financial aid for the remainder of her undergraduate degree. 
 
Lindsey appeared in 72 games in two years at Carolina with 38 starts. A native of San Jose, Calif., she will stay with the softball program this upcoming season as she works toward completing her degree in tourism management.
