Shelton Finished at W25 Dallas

DALLAS – South Carolina women’s tennis freshman Emma Shelton has wrapped up play at the W25 Dallas after earning a wild card into the main draw of the tournament hosted at the SMU Tennis Complex.
 
In the first round of play, Shelton fell to Natalia Siedliska from Germany, 7-5, 6-3. Siedliska is currently ranked No. 567 in singles by the WTA and No. 489 by the ITF.
 
Also competing in the same tournament, alumna Ingrid Martins tallied two wins in the qualifying round, advancing to the main draw. Martins is also participating in doubles with Brazilian partner Thaisa Grana Pedretti.

Up next, Shelton rejoins her teammates as they prep for the ITA Carolina Regional Championships hosted by Wake Forest from Thursday, Oct. 24 to Monday, Oct. 28.
