Gamecocks Ready for SEC Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s cross country team is headed to Lexington, Ky., for the 2019 SEC XC Championships held at the Kentucky Horse Park on Friday at 10 a.m.
 
Carolina has 12 student-athletes traveling for the race, including: Morgan Adams, Savannah Bowers, Leah Ford, Kelsey Larkin, Morgan Lee, Sarah-Sims McGrath, Maryah Nasir, Hillary Neely, Sarah Riser, Anna Kathryn Stoddard, Hannah Twine and Brooke Wilson.
 
Last time out, Stoddard finished 6th at the East Carolina Pirate Invitational with a 6K time of 21:09.7, just one second short of her PR. Larkin also finished one second short of her PR, crossing the line at 22:45.0. Adams shattered her PR at the same meet, finishing at 23:20.8. Riser also earned a PR of 23:11.2 at the East Carolina Pirate Meet.
 
The Championships will air live on the SEC Network with the men’s 8K taking off at 9:05 a.m. and the women’s 6K following at 10 a.m. Live results are also available for the meet.
 
Those who finish in the top-seven earn first-team honors, while the 8th-14th finishers will take a spot on the second team. The All-Freshman team consists of the top seven freshman (true or redshirt) finishers.
