Lyman Named SEC Rider of the Month

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – South Carolina freshman Grady Lyman has been named SEC Rider of the Month in Equitation on the Flat after going undefeated during the month of February.
 
Lyman went 2-0 in SEC competitions with wins over No. 1-ranked Auburn and No. 2 Texas A&M. First, Lyman topped her Tigers counterpart by eight points, 84-76. The following weekend, Lyman garnered a 14-point victory after defeating her Aggie opponent, 83-69.
 
Overall, Lyman went undefeated during the entire month with three regular-season wins and one exhibition meet victory.
 
Lyman started the month by earning a victory in an exhibition meet with Liberty, 78-64. Lyman’s 14-point win earned her MOP honors at the conclusion of the meet. Against TCU, she scored an 80 on the flat, topping her opponent by eight, 80-72.
 
Over her four rides in the month of February, Lyman won by an average of 11 points. Lyman has competed one other time in Equitation on the Flat for Carolina, bringing her overall record to 4-0 with two MOPs.
 
Up next, the No. 4 Gamecocks partake in their last SEC, and road meet, of the season at No. 7 Georgia on Saturday at 1 p.m.
