Five Horses Honored in NCEA Top-10

WACO, Texas – The South Carolina equestrian team had five horses honored by the NCEA as top-10 horses in three separate events.
 
In Horsemanship, Reggie earned his seventh-straight recognition. This season, Reggie remained in the starting lineup for Carolina, taking one MOP on the season. Reggie is a 15.3 hand, paint, gelding and was donated to the Gamecocks by David Tammen.
 
This season, Ollie, who is a 15.3 hand, thoroughbred cross, gelding, was recognized in Equitation on the Flat. Earlier in the year, Ollie was named the NCEA Horse of the Month during the month of Oct. Along with this monthly honor, Ollie rode to two MOP awards this season. Ollie comes to South Carolina by way of the Gamecocks’ barn manager, Maggie Barton.
 
Carolina had three horses recognized in Equitation Over Fences, including Batman, Joe and Kenny. Kenny, who is a 17 hand, liver chestnut, Warmblood gelding and donated by the Savoie family, had one MOP on the season, earning it at the SEC Championship. Also recognized was Batman, a 16.3 hand, dark bay, Dutch Warmblood gelding. Batman was donated by Mr. and Mrs. David Mittl and earned one MOP. Lastly, the Gamecocks own Joe, a 16.1 hand, black, Warmblood gelding, originally donated by Darren Graziano, and he tallied one MOP this year.
