Pelaez To Compete in European Ladies' Team Championship

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Rising senior Ana Pelaez is set to take part in the 2019 European Ladies’ Team Championship, representing her home country of Spain, beginning on July 9 at the Is Molas Golf Club in Italy.
 
The tournament begins with two rounds of qualifying stroke play followed by three days of match play, ending on July 13.
 
In her junior campaign, Pelaez finished with a 74.89 stroke average in 10 tournaments for the Gamecocks. The Malaga, Spain, native was one of the strongest performers in match play during the 2018-19 season, finishing 4-1-1, and is 8-3-1 in her career. In her three seasons at South Carolina, Pelaez has earned an All-American honor, won the 2017 NCAA Columbus Regional and was a 2017 Second Team All-SEC honoree.
 
A total of 20 teams are registered to compete, all comprising of six players. Stroke play will determine the seeds for match play, with the lowest five scores from each team counting toward its total score. Only the top eight teams will compete for medals when match play begins.
