The Gamecocks went a perfect 4-0 on the week, which included a sweep of Cornell.

COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went a perfect 4-0 on the week, which included a three-game sweep of Cornell at Founders Park.

NOTES:
The Gamecocks’ pitching staff struck out 41 batters and held Cornell to six runs and a .154 batting average in a sweep of the Big Red. Brannon Jordan had 10 punchouts in five innings in the win, while Thomas Farr had six strikeouts as he improved to 3-0 on the season.
 
Wes Clarke had home runs in three of Carolina’s four games this week, including a two-run home run in the 12th inning of the 3-1 win over Furman on Tuesday night. Clarke is slugging at a .750 clip after 15 games and leads the team with eight home runs and 22 RBI.
 
The Carolina bullpen had a streak of 13.2 hitless innings this week and the pen allowed just three runs in four contests. This included Cam Tringali’s five inning outing against Furman, where he did not allow a hit and struck out seven in the 3-1, 12-inning win.
 
Brennan Milone returned to the Carolina lineup after missing 11 games due to injury. He doubled for his first career hit in Saturday’s 10-3 win.

Carolina hosts The Citadel Tuesday night at Founders Park before opening SEC play on the weekend as Tennessee comes to Columbia for a three-game series on March 13-15.
