South Carolina Athletics Announces Winning Plays of the Decade Bracket
Fans Can Vote for the Top Plays of the Last Decade
Gamecock fans will select their favorite moments of the last decade in a 32-event single-elimination tournament bracket format created by South Carolina Athletics, it was announced today.
The tournament voting will be held though the Gamecock Athletics official twitter account, @GamecocksOnline, with first-round matchups beginning at 12:01 am on Wednesday, April 15. The tournament, which is sponsored by AFLAC, runs through the end of the month.
The Garnet side of the bracket features such memorable moments as Whit Merrifield’s game-winning RBI clinching the 2010 NCAA baseball championship, Jadeveon Clowney’s ESPY-winning hit in the 2013 Outback Bowl, and the men’s basketball regional run to the Final Four in 2017.
The Black side of the bracket features the women’s basketball 2017 national title game win over Mississippi State, Paul Jubb’s NCAA tennis singles title win in 2019 and Krystan White’s dramatic two-out, two-run home run in the 2018 softball regionals, among others.
