Boesel And Maguire Named To Academic All-District Team

First time Carolina has had multiple selections since 2008

COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball’s Mackenzie Boesel and Kenzi Maguire were named to the 2020 NCAA Division I District 4 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced today.
 
A native of Yorba Linda, Calif., Boesel graduated a year early with a degree in sport and entertainment while maintaining her 4.00 GPA through her first year of graduate school.
 
Boesel was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America first team in 2019 after being named to the third team in 2018. She’s the 10th Gamecock in program history to earn Academic All-America honors and the second under head coach Beverly Smith.
 
A native of Hudson, Fla., Maguire has also maintained her 4.00 GPA through graduate school and is majoring in education technology.
 
This is Maguire’s first Academic All-District honor.
 
The 2020 Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Honorees selected First-Team Academic All-District now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced from June 8-11.
