Gamecocks Announce Fall Schedule
Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s golf team is set to compete in three tournaments this fall that sees the team facing off against some of the strongest competition in the country.
“I appreciate the continued commitment by the SEC, it’s coaches, and the University of South Carolina Athletics department to create an opportunity for our team to compete this fall within a safe environment,” head coach Kalen Anderson said of the team’s fall slate. “Our three fall events showcase strong, championship venues and deeply competitive fields, with two events that will be televised on the Golf Channel. Our squad is excited to get back to competition!”
Carolina opens the season at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas, at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. on Oct. 5-7. The tournament is a mixed event where both the men’s and women’s Carolina squads will compete against the other 13 SEC programs. All three days of the 54-hole tournament will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel.
Then the Gamecocks head to West Point, Miss. to compete in The Ally at Old Waverly. Hosted by Mississippi State, the 54-hole event runs from Oct. 19-21 at the Old Waverly Golf Club.
Finally, Carolina wraps up its fall slate at the East Lake Cup on Oct. 26-28. Held at the historic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, the Gamecocks will compete against three of the top teams in the nation with the tournament airing live on the Golf Channel each day.
The Gamecocks return three All-Americans from last year in Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, Lois Kaye Go, Ana Pelaez and added a fourth All-American in transfer Pimnipa Panthong. Carolina won a pair of tournaments last fall, the Windy City Collegiate Classic and the Landfall Tradition, before the rest of the season was canceled.
