Bulldog Invitational Cancelled
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Due to anticipated heavy rains due to Hurricane Sally, the Bulldog Invitational set for Sept. 17 in Athens, Ga., has been cancelled. The meet will not be rescheduled.
“We are disappointed that we won’t be able to race this week,” Cross Country coach Andrew Allden said. “We understand the cancellation is based on the hurricane and not COVID. We’ll focus on getting ready for the FSU Invitational.”
The Gamecocks will not attempt to find a makeup meet for the cancelled Bulldog Invitational, per the SEC Guidelines that say its encouraged to not compete more than once every two weeks. Carolina will still compete in the minimum two (2) events prior to the SEC Championships that are being held in Baton Rouge, La.
The Gamecocks will return to action on Oct. 2, at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. For more information on the Gamecocks, continue to check back with gamecocksonline.com. Subscribe to South Carolina on Stanza to get schedule updates directly in your calendars.
