The Gamecocks moved to 10-0 on the season after a four-win week.

COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went 4-0 on the week, winning at Winthrop in the midweek before sweeping Mercer at Founders Park.

NOTES:
The Gamecocks improved to 10-0 on the year, becoming the first Carolina team to start 10-0 since 2016.
 
Pitching was the story for Carolina this past weekend, as the Gamecock arms allowed just one run in 27 innings. Julian Bosnic pitched 5.2 no-hit innings, striking out nine in Carolina’s 1-0 win on Sunday. Brannon Jordan had 11 punchouts on Saturday, allowing just one hit in five innings of work, in a 4-0 victory on Saturday. Thomas Farr allowed just one run in with five strikeouts in Friday’s 5-1 win.
 
Carolina’s bullpen has struck out 70 batters in 47 innings pitched this season. Andrew Peters has 12 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings this season while Brett Kerry picked up his first save on Sunday, striking out the side in the ninth. He has 16 strikeouts in seven innings pitched in 2021. Jack Mahoney also has 11 strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched.
 
Carolina had an offensive explosion on Tuesday in a 19-8 win over Winthrop. Joe Satterfield drove in five runs while Brady Allen had four RBI. Satterfield joined Allen and Josiah Sightler with three hits on the night.
 
Carolina had back-to-back shutouts in wins over Mercer on Saturday and Sunday. It was the first time the Gamecocks have done that feat since they shut out Miami (Ohio) on March 6-7, 2015.
 
Carolina is at The Citadel on Wednesday night before travelling to Austin, Texas for a three-game series at Texas starting Friday night.
