Baseball Hosts Davidson Tuesday Night at Founders Park
The Gamecocks and Wildcats meet for the first time since 2018.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina baseball team hosts Davidson on Tuesday night (March 16) at 7 p.m. inside Founders Park. Tuesday’s game will be streamed on SEC Network Plus. Every Gamecock contest will be on the Gamecock Radio Network with Derek Scott and Tommy Moody on the call. Carolina fell in all three games at Texas this past weekend. Braylen Wimmer was 4-for-4 in Sunday’s game while Brady Allen had three doubles in the series. Thomas Farr struck out 10 in Friday’s game.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON
Davidson was swept at The Citadel this past weekend. The Wildcats fell, 2-0, in the series opener as Gabe Levy struck out 12 batters in 7.1 innings pitched. Trevor Candelaria leads the team with a .317 batting average while Josh Hosmer has four home runs and 13 RBI. Levy and Blake Hely have 29 and 19 strikeouts on the mound, respectively.
SERIES VS. DAVIDSON
Carolina leads the all-time series with Davidson, 49-21-1, The two teams met on March 27, 2018, as the Gamecocks came away with a 5-4 victory in Columbia. Justin Row was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Logan Chapman struck out six in five innings to earn the win.
FARR RECORDS CAREER HIGH VS. LONGHORNS
Thomas Farr struck out a career high 10 batters in Carolina’s 4-1 loss to Texas on March 12. Farr went six innings in the start, allowing seven hits and a run with just one walk to go along with the 10 punchouts. On the season, Farr is 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA.
WIMMER DOES IT ALL ON SUNDAY IN TEXAS
Braylen Wimmer was a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Sunday’s 8-5 loss at Texas. Wimmer also made a home run saving catch in center field in the series finale. Wimmer currently leads the Gamecocks with a .395 batting average and is second with six doubles.
CAROLINA CALLS STARTS WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Head Coach Mark Kingston will be on Carolina Calls starting this Wednesday night (March 17) from 7-8 p.m. at Home Team Barbecue in Five Points. The show will be broadcast on the Gamecock Radio Network with Derek Scott as the host.
