Softball Drops Opener To Missouri
Two teams meet again tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. ET
COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball dropped a 13-4 game in six innings to Missouri on Thursday night at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. The Gamecocks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first before the Tigers surged back to earn the series-opening win.
A Cayla Drotar single and Jordan Fabian’s three-run home run were the run-producing plays for Carolina.
Seven different Gamecocks (Kenzi Maguire, Mackenzie Boesel, Jordan Fabian, Aaliyah White, Katie Prebble, Maddie Gallagher and Drotar) finished with hits. Boesel led the way with a 2-for-3 night with a run scored and two doubles.
Drotar (1-3) took the loss in the circle in 3.0 innings of work.
