Drotar Shines In Saturday Game
Fifth-year senior produced 3-for-4 afternoon with four RBI
COLUMBIA, S.C. —- South Carolina softball scored two runs in the seventh but ultimately dropped a 10-6 game to No. 17 Missouri on Saturday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Cayla Drotar shined at the plate with a 3-for-4 day highlighted with a two-run home run.
The Gamecocks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to Drotar’s home run in the bottom of the first but couldn’t overcome a nine-run second inning from the Tigers.
Kenzi Maguire and Zoe Laneaux accounted for the other two Carolina hits while Mackenzie Boesel showed a keen eye with three walks. Drotar posted a team-best four RBI while Maguire scored three runs.
Drotar (1-4) took the loss in the circle.
