Men's Tennis Earns ITA Academic Honors
COLUMBIA, S.C. – For the 10th-straight season, South Carolina men’s tennis was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team, the organization announced today. Six Gamecocks picked up individual recognition as ITA Scholar-Athletes, marking the fourth-straight season in which four or more Gamecocks made the list.
Senior Thomas Brown led the individual honors, claiming the award for the fourth time in as many seasons at South Carolina. He joins Kyle Koch (2012-15) and Thomas Mayronne (2015-18) as the only four-time selections in program history.
Three-time selections Raphael Lambling and Daniel Rodrigues kept their streaks alive as did Phillip Jordan, who earned the award for the second time. Freshmen Bruno Oliveira and Carter Morgan made their debuts.
A student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year to receive the ITA Scholar-Athlete Award, and a team must have a 3.2 GPA for the team award.
