Gamecocks Add Gracie Mulville to 2021-22 Roster
Mulville Becomes South Carolina's Fifth Newcomer for Next Season
COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina women’s tennis head coach Kevin Epley announced the addition of Gracie Mulville to the Gamecocks’ 2021-22 roster Wednesday.
Mulville is the fifth newcomer for next season joining Ayana Akli, Sarah Hamner, Misa Malkin and Chloe Narboni.
“We are thrilled to add Gracie to the 21-22 squad,” Epley said. “She is a versatile player who can hit all the shots and could potentially have an immediate impact. She has a bit of an old school, all-court game that will definitely frustrate some opponents.”
Mulville is rated as a five-star recruit by TennisRecruiting.net and has been ranked among the top-50 nationally by the website throughout her junior career. She was ranked as high as No. 36 during 2020 and achieved a high of No. 18 in both 2018 and 2019. Mulville topped out at No. 22 in 2017 and the following year had the No. 2-rated TennisRPI at one point during the season. She ascended as high as No. 4 in the RPI in 2019 as well. TennisRecruiting.net currently lists Mulville as the No. 40 player in the nation for her class and No. 9 in the Southeast Region.
A native of Davidson, N.C., Mulville has seen herself ranked among the top 100 players nationally by the USTA for the Girls’ 12s, 14s, 16s and 18s as well. She reached the round of 16 at the USTA National Hard Courts two years in a row and represented Team Southern at Intersectionals, winning gold at the event.
