Gamecocks Earn Six Wins on Day 2 of the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis earned six wins on day two of the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic, and newcomer Sarah Hamner upset her first ranked opponent of the fall. The Gamecocks wrapped up doubles play in the tournament and played one round of singles. 
 
Three of the Gamecocks that won in singles did so in straight sets. The final round of singles play will take place on Sunday, the last day of the tournament.
 
Gamecock Notables

• Ranked doubles team No. 40 Megan Davies and Allie Gretkowski took down Tenika McGiffin and Olivia Symons of Tennessee with a commanding 6-1 win.
• Sarah Hamner faced her first ranked opponent of the fall in No. 28 Chloe Beck of Duke. The newcomer defeated Beck in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
• In three sets, Allie Gretkowski defeated Vanderbilt’s Anna Ross 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3.
• Elise Mills won her match in a third set tiebreak against Marcella Cruz of Vanderbilt 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5). 
• Sophomore Lindsay Tulenko played her final match in her flight, winning 6-4, 7-5 to top Alexandra Antilla of in-state rival Clemson.
• Newcomer Chloe Narboni posted an efficient 6-1, 6-0 win over Gabby Cusano of Texas.
