SEC Announces 2022 Softball Conference Schedule
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference announced the conference schedule this afternoon (Thursday, Sept. 23) for the 2022 softball season. The Gamecocks will open their SEC schedule at home against Georgia March 11-13.
Conference play will begin on March 11 and run through May 8. The regular-season conference schedule includes eight, three-game series for each team for a total of 24 games. The schedule is subject to change, including the move of some conference series to conclude on Mondays.
Of South Carolina’s eight SEC series, the Gamecocks face six opponents that advanced to an NCAA Super Regional last season. Following the opening weekend series against Georgia, the Gamecocks head to Auburn for a March 18-20 matchup. South Carolina follows that up with a home series against defending SEC Tournament champion Alabama, March 25-27.
The Gamecocks open April by traveling to Missouri the 1st-3rd. Following an SEC bye week, South Carolina hits the road again, this time to LSU April 15-17, before returning to Beckham Field April 22-24 to host Ole Miss. The Gamecock’s final road SEC series sees them take on Arkansas April 29-May 1. The conference regular season comes to a close at home for South Carolina, May 6-8, when the Gamecocks take on Kentucky.
The SEC Tournament is scheduled for May 10-14 at the Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.
The non-conference portion of the schedule as well as game times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
Season tickets for the 2022 season are available now and can be purchased online here. Season tickets are general admission seating and are $25 for adults and $10 for youth (17 and under).
