AUBURN, Ala. – The South Carolina softball team heads west for its first road SEC series, when the Gamecocks face the 19th ranked Auburn Tigers March 19-21. Sunday and Monday’s games will be nationally televised on the SEC Network.

  • Freshman Emma Sellers’ 26 hits through 25 games are the most by a freshman since Kennedy Clark had 29 hits in 2016.
  • The 41 stolen bases by Carolina are the most to start a season since stealing 54 in 2013. It’s the third time under Smith they’ve stolen at least 40 (2011, 13)
  • The 164 RBIs are the most through 25 games since 2019, and are third most under Smith through 24 games (2013, 178; 2019, 167).
  • The Gamecocks opened the season at home for the third straight year. Last season the team opened the season with Carolina Classic, but was canceled due to weather. 
  • South Carolina has opened the season at home in 7 of 12 seasons under Bev Smith.
  • The 2022 roster features 22 total players. A total of seven different states are represented.
